Garamvári - Szeremley Wine Duet Dinner

As a continuation of our unique WineDuett series, this time we introduce our guests to two of the Balaton region’s excellent wineries known as Garamvari winery and Szeremley winery.

 

 

In 1993, Garamvári Wineyard expanded its activities to grape cultivation and viticulture with its vineyards extending over 74 hectares in the South Balaton region at present. Apart from the fact that some wines produced by Garamvári Wineyard in the town of Balatonlelle gained a number of national and international prizes, the fruitful cooperation of the collectives in Budafok and Lelle earned Garamvári Wineyard the title of the WINERY OF THE YEAR in 2006. At the end of 2013, the Hungarian Wine Academy London International Wine Challenge granted Vencel Garamvári the honourable title of the WINEMAKER OF THE YEAR.

 

 

 

Ten years ago, Huba Szeremley began to restore and expand the family estate which has become one of the most popular vineyards in Badacsony and Balaton wine regions, and is known throughout the world nowadays as one of the main wineries of Hungary. The First Hungarian Wine House run by Szeremley Birtok Kft. became well-known worldwide in 2001, when it won a third of the international prizes awarded to Hungarian wines at major international wine competitions such as the Challenge International du Vin in Bordeaux and Vinitaly in Verona, where due to being the most successful Hungarian winery, Szeremley Winery was granted the Premio Speciale prize in both 2001 and 2002.

 

 

 

Along with the excellent wines, Gábor Kovács, secretary general of the Sommelier association and Ákos Kovács, director of ARAZ Restaurant recommend the unique menu created by Áron Barka, Chéf de Cuisine.
